YOUTH CLUB
The Youth Club at Parker’s Wrestling Club in Temple, Texas is where young athletes ages 5–12 begin their journey toward strength, discipline, and confidence. This program introduces the fundamentals of Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling through age-appropriate training that focuses on movement, balance, coordination, and mental growth.
Under the guidance of Coach Parker Ehn-Howland, our youth athletes learn more than wrestling techniques—they learn life skills. Every practice teaches perseverance, focus, and respect, helping kids develop the mindset needed to succeed in school, sports, and beyond. Through structured workouts and positive mentorship, wrestlers gain confidence in themselves and learn the value of hard work and teamwork.
For parents, the Youth Club offers more than just a sport—it’s a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where children build character, make friends, and learn how to overcome challenges. At Parker’s Wrestling Club, we believe every child deserves the chance to grow stronger—physically, mentally, and emotionally—both on and off the mat.

Endurance
Wrestling is one of the most effective sports for developing endurance in young athletes. At Parker’s Wrestling Club, our Youth Club training pushes kids to strengthen both body and mind through consistent movement, controlled intensity, and sustained effort. Every drill, match, and conditioning session builds cardiovascular stamina, muscular strength, and mental toughness.
As young wrestlers learn to maintain focus and energy through demanding practices, they develop the ability to push past fatigue, recover quickly, and perform under pressure. This endurance not only enhances athletic performance but also teaches kids resilience — the determination to keep going when things get tough, both on and off the mat.
Mental Strength
At Parker’s Wrestling Club, we believe wrestling is one of the best ways to develop true mental strength. Our Youth Club teaches young athletes how to stay focused, composed, and determined—no matter the challenge. Through tough practices, competition, and consistent discipline, wrestlers learn to control emotions, think under pressure, and push through adversity.
Each time a child steps on the mat, they’re tested not just physically, but mentally. They learn that progress takes patience, effort, and self-belief. Over time, this mindset builds confidence, resilience, and grit—qualities that extend far beyond wrestling and help them succeed in every aspect of life.
Health Benefits
Wrestling offers powerful health benefits for kids of all ages. At Parker’s Wrestling Club, our training improves strength, flexibility, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness while promoting healthy habits that last a lifetime. Regular practice helps young athletes maintain a strong body, balanced nutrition, and active lifestyle.
Beyond the physical gains, wrestling also supports mental and emotional health—reducing stress, boosting confidence, and encouraging focus and self-discipline. Each workout strengthens the body while teaching kids how to take care of themselves, set goals, and stay motivated. It’s not just a sport—it’s a foundation for lifelong health and well-being.
